WHO TO CONTACT TO
REPORT A PET NUISANCE
Alice Geiger is the Palm Beach county animal control “nuisance Officer”. She can be contacted
regarding action that can be taken when an association resident observes another resident allowing an animal to bark continuously
or run loose or to defecate within the association, and fails to remove the droppings. All complaints shall be referred
to her office at 561-233-1213; this is her direct line. Once she receives the call, she will mail an affidavit form
to the caller. This form must state the complainants name, address, what they observed, time, date, location of the
incident, and the address of the violator. This affidavit must then be notarized and returned to her office. This
affidavit is public record, so the violator is entitled to see it upon their request. Additionally the complainant must
certify they are willing to appear in court to testify, if the violator should choose to challenge this matter in court.
Below is the fine schedule. Fines are issued against the property of the animal owner, as below or the property in which
the animal resides in the event the violator is a renter. The fines become a city lien if unpaid. 1st offence
– Written notice, 2nd offence - $116.00 fine, 3rd offence – $266.00 fine, 4th offence - $516.00 fine, 5th and
subsequent offences are the courts determination.
